Lincoln and I had this great idea to replace our kitchen floor. It really needed replacing. Well . . . . we went and ordered a new floor from _______ and were promised the floor on March 20th. Geesh, I am wondering, did I pray for patience or something? It seems like everything I do is a hurry-up-and-wait situation. So, Lincoln took spring break off to tear out the old floor and put in the new one and by some miracle we would have an old floor one week and then the next Walaaa, a new one. NOT TO BE. . . . After, phoning this company, going and visiting this company many many times, we finally complained to their corporate headquarters and are hopefully going to get our floor. But it won't be until early May. I have been without a floor, except this beautiful one you see in the pictures for going on 7 weeks. I can find a silver lining in all of this, however. . . . . I haven't had to mop a kitchen floor for 7 weeks. You see that spot in the middle of the floor? That is actually soap. One of my soap bottles burst before I could get it home from the grocery store, that is really the only spill we've had and at least it is soap. I hope I haven't jinxed myself and we start spilling things all over the place . . . . I'll post the floor when it is done, I CAN'T WAIT!!!! but will have to anyway.

News

Some of you know, and some of you don't, but now that it is pretty much a surety, I wanted to let you all know that Lincoln will be deployed to Afghanistan early next year. His training will start bit by bit right now, but he will have a month long training before going then he will be gone for a while after that. He was highly recruited to "volunteer." It has always been something he thought he would like to do, and so we talked about it and he decided to do it. Wow, I'm sure it won't hit me until he is gone, just how hard it will be. He will be stationed on a base in Afghanistan to manage some things on the base. He shouldn't ever have to go out into the field of battle . . . . . So all of you can pray for him okay? THANKS!!
Our Weekend
I am loving our weekends now that it is getting warm enough to be outside. Last week-end we went to the park and had a picnic, threw the frisbee and baseball around. It was so nice. This weekend we had two ball games for McKay to go to and then Lincoln and I went to an Air Force dining out. It is a formal event and so we had to get dressed up. Lincoln in his "mess dress" and I in a more formal dress. I guess you could say I went "semi formal." I found this picture of the "grog" bowl. Which is as you can see a toilet bowl. I didn't have my camera. At our event there were two grog bowl's, one alcoholic and the other not. They have a whole host of rules, and if you break them you have to go to the grog bowl, fill your cup, toast the hosts, then drink the grog and put your cup upside down on your head. Pretty funny to see these dressed up military guys trying to get each other in trouble. We went to the dinner in Lincoln's miata with the top down. So we were in our formal clothes, top down, wind blowing . . . good thing I had my hair straight or I would have looked really WILD.

Our Saturday
My blog has been really boring as of late. There really hasn't been anything happening lately. McKay and I spent all day outside today. He started baseball today and they had an opening ceremony and then a game. They lost by 1 point, but McKay did a really good job I thought. This year he is on a different team. His old team was disbanded due to a lack of enough boys that signed up for little league. He likes his new team, and I think the coach likes him. McKay is always smiling. It's something everybody notices. The coach tries everyone out in all of the positions and McKay has been targeted to play catcher and shortstop, with maybe some pitching thrown in. So it was McKays first game as catcher. He only lasted two innings. He closed his mitt too quickly and stubbed his thumb, or is it jammed his thumb? He finished out the game playing shortstop. He also had some really good hits, so he is off to a good start. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I got some really sunburned arms. I wasn't thinking about sunscreen because it was so overcast!! Oh well, I needed some color anyway! Lincoln was in Pennsylvania so he missed the game:( :(
