Aunt Sis

We have really been blessed this year to make reconnections.
During the summer Aunt Sis came out to Pennsylvania
to see her daughter and family.

They made a trip down to Marlyand to see the sights
and also to see my mom and dad.
We were able to come and have dinner with everyone
at Trudy's place.

I cannot tell you how nice it was to see Sis and my Dad talk.
It has been a really loooooong time since they have talked
for various and sundry reasons.

This is my love, Lincoln.

The fam!  Sis, Dad and the Bainters.

Family is such a blessing!

Cousin Time

My cousin Teresa contacted our family and told us that she was coming to DC.
She wanted to stay a few extra days to sight see
and to reconnect with the family.

We hadn't seen each other for over 30 years.
She looks a few years older than I remember,
but also the same as I remember.

It was so fun to have her at my house and to reconnect
and be able to talk about our lives and families.
Life hasn't been peaches and cream for either of us
and it was nice to be honest and forthcoming
and be able to truly get to know each other again.

She wanted to try some "Maryland" food and so I drove her out quite
a ways to a place on the Potomac River to an
"old school" crab house.

I remember the first time I had these crabs set
in front of me. . . . . . fun times!

We checked off a bucket list item for her by taking her to the DC temple.

I had to work and so she took the metro into DC to sight see.
While she was here, Trudy, Mom and Dad and I were able
to go out to dinner.
What a blessing for us ALL to reconnect again.

Thanks Teresa for making this all possible.

The Nats!

This summer we got tickets to see the Nats.
It isn't very often that a person gets a chance to see
a National League baseball game.

This was a lot of fun.
Though honestly I thought the game was quite boring.

OH WELL!
I loved the outing nonetheless.

This baseball park was fantastic.

The metro ride to/from the park.

Thanks Lincoln for giving the two of use these experiences.

Bike Ride

Lincoln and I bought new bikes this year for our birthday
and have been doing weekend rides.

This ride was our longest of the season so far.
We rode 23 some odd miles from
The National Harbor to Mount Vernon.

The ride was very hilly and pretty tough.
But it was an accomplishment to be able to finish it.

Lincoln is always fun to be around.
He makes me smile.

The Wilson Bridge.
We biked over the bridge.

We are almost ready to bike over the bridge in this picture.

At Mount Vernon.

And back at the Harbor.

Looking forward to the next ride!

The Big Kids

Myrtle with the Big Kids

This was an all to familiar sight.
The big boys sleeping.
They kept different hours than Lincoln and I.

Sleeping Beauties.

We loved our condo.  It was on the 9th floor and faced the ocean.
You almost didn't need to go down to the beach.

I think the big kids love enjoy digging in the sand as much as the little ones.

Chancy being a good Uncle,
teaching Asher about boogie boarding.

A rainbow.

Lincoln and I walked the beach most of the mornings.
Halley came with us one of the mornings.

Justin left a "selfie" on my phone!
Oh MY!

I'm so glad we did this trip!  YAY!
