McKay and his doings

I've got some catching up to do with my blog.
The easiest thing for me to do is to start today and work backwards.
So things will be a little out of order.
But OH WELL!

The most exciting thing in our lives right now
is that McKay is getting ready to serve a mission
for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We hoped and expected that he would make this decision,
and without much ado, he is making this path his choice.

He got his call to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin mission back in October.
He has had a LOOOOOOOOng wait, and won't be leaving until the end of January.

We have been busily getting him ready,
purchasing suits,
slacks,
socks,
coats,
ties,
dress shirts,
etc.
etc.
etc.
His hair has been getting shorter and shorter with each haircut,

but the very most important thing he has done is go to the
temple to be endowed.

50 percent of our children have done this and we hope that
more of them will get ready to do so also.

This was such an awesome day.

Two things happened that day that I thought was neat. . . . . . .
McKay's mission president that he will have in Wisconsin's
sister and her family was in the session with us that day!!!
How crazy it that?

Also, the women I was proxy for on that day was from Wisconsin!
Crazy again, Right?

Thank you mom and dad, Baxter and Joseph Hicks for spending the day with us!

I had an "old lady" moment that I didn't even notice until I saw these pictures.
(my skirt is on backwards or sidewards or something as the seam is in the front! arghhhhh!)

What a good looking young man McKay has turned out to be!
